The Lord Will Provide

This was a really good and wonderful week. We had some wonderful experiences where the Lord had His hands in our lives. We also had a a baptism on Saturday. Sarfraz, from Pakistan, got baptized by Elder Uhlig. It went very smoothly. We also managed to have a really good District meeting with a wonderful Spirit present. But I'll focus on two extraordinary experiences this week.

Me, (Jesus), Sarfraz and Elder Uhlig

The baptism and confirmation where two great experiences that we had this week, which where obviously the Lord's works. I'm very grateful for the privilege to witness such a great and wonderful miracle such as conversion or at least testimony and growing conversion. That a person can change is still the greatest miracle in my sight and it is the focus of God's purpose. (So it must be important xD) Especially when we ( was privileged to be voice) gave the gift of the Holy Ghost to Sarfraz on Sunday following his baptism the Spirit's presence could be felt very strongly. It was magnificent!

We had another wonderful miracle and a great sign of the Lord's concern for his missionaries this week. On Tuesday evening, I was in charge of the phone and in the early evening I made quite a few calls so as to secure us plenty of appointments for the next day. In the evening when we fleshed out our plans for Wednesday we came to the horrific conclusion that I'd scheduled so many lessons that we didn't have time to eat lunch. Elder Uhlig wasn't happy and expressed his displeasure. Quick to defend my rash actions I boldly stated that we needn't plan for lunch. The Lord would look after his missionaries. He'd provide for us through the Coleman's (Senior Couple) bringing us some food before district meeting. Well, Elder Uhlig took that answer and said "ok, but you pray for it". Well, I did.

On Wednesday we out and had our first lesson and then when we came to our lesson just before district meeting the person wasn't present so we decided to go to church early and get Gyros on the way. (Oh, we were of so little faith....!) After finishing our Gyros we entered the church and as we got to the top floor where the Coleman's office is, Sister Coleman approached us with a big Tupperware dish full of Sheppard's pie for the two of us. I was elated and devastated at the same time. Elated that the Lord really does look out for His missionaries in even the small matters and devastated because of my little faith. The rest of district meeting the Gyros laid heavy in our stomachs. The lesson I've learned from this experience is that we should always trust in the Lord!!! Even in these things. The scripture is literally true in Matthew 7:31-33. Why did we fear for what we should eat?! :)

This week should prove to be exciting. We've got Specialized Training, exchanges and a dinner appointment to look forward to...
Karim and me with the craziest Christmas tree I've seen! And it got worse...
